BMW Hikes Up the Pricing of its U.S. Lineup

BMW AG has announced that it will increase the price of all its U.S. models starting January 1, except for the newly released diesels. A price increase of 0.7% will be implemented across the board in an attempt to "ensure revenue generation for the company’s U.S. operations and help to protect the quality of business," according to a statement released by the company.

BMW also stated its main reason for the price increase loud and clear.

"This action is driven by the ongoing structural and economical changes in the marketplace," BMW said in the statement.

One model that gets way more than a 0.7% increase is the 7-Series. That model’s price increases significantly. A 2009 BMW 750i will cost you $3,500 more than the 2008 model. The 2009 BMW 750Li on the other hand, increases $4,300 in price over its outgoing predecessors. To get into a 7-series, you now have to bring more than 80 grand to the table. The 750i’s new 400-hp twin-turbo V8 engine should make you feel a little bit better about it though.
