New Accolades for 2011 Kia Sorento

If you’re looking for affordability and value in a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) for 2011, take notice: in an April 25 notice, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance put the 2011 Kia Sorento on its “Best Cars for Families” list. Lots of people are talking about the 2011 Kia Sorento, but along with items like a decent suspension and efficient use of space, Kiplinger’s is calling attention to the overall “value” of this competitive crossover with a starting MSRP of $21,995.

Granted, the price quoted above is for the base model 2011 Sorento: extra features for this sporty crossover utility vehicle will cost more. The price also excludes notable additions that experienced buyers know to anticipate, such as tags and title, license, and state tax. Another item left out of that bottom line quote is the amorphous “dealer charges” that tend to pop up: buyers looking for a good 2011 CUV of any kind will benefit from having an index of competitive price to help haggle at the dealership. But overall, the base price for Kia’s 2011 crossover utility vehicle allows for a bit less on your financing bill, and that’s something that will save a good chunk of money over time.

The 2011 Kia Sorento isn’t the only affordable 2011 CUV around: Autoblog cites the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander as a CUV with style and competitive pricing around the $22,000 mark. Also, the diminutive 2011 Nissan Juke weighs in at the lighter MSRP of under $19,000. But according to Kiplinger’s and a whole lot of other big consumer reports venues, when it comes to getting an affordable 2011 CUV that you’ll love, you won’t be wrong by looking at what Kia has to offer. It’s worth noting that the model year’s Kia Sportage is also competitive, with moderate pricing and lots of attractive attributes that turn eyes on the lot.

Both the 2011 Kia Sorento and the  2011 Kia Sportage are also eligible for a bunch of savings incentives that help trim the buyer’s auto loan principal amount. According to a 2011 Consumer Reports fact sheet, the 2011 Sorento sells with manufacturer specials that include a $1000 owner loyalty incentive, as well as another $1000 in “competitive bonus money” and additional savings of $400 for students and $500 for military members. All of these incentives depend on specific criteria, so check with your local dealership about what breaks Kia is offering.
