GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner will be in Lordstown, Ohio today to show off photos of the new Chevrolet Cruze compact car that will be built at the plant, which is near Youngstown, Ohio.
Wagoner is also expected to announce GM’s multimillion-dollar investment in the Lordstown plant during his visit,
reports the AP and Detroit News. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and UAW officials will be there for the announcement.
The Chevrolet Cruze will be built at the Lordstown Assembly and is a possible replacement for the Chevrolet Cobalt. The Cruze will be more fuel-efficient than the Cobalt and resembles the body style of the new Chevy Malibu, one of GM’s most popular and best-selling cars.
