Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro Recalled for Faulty Parking Brake
The parking brake lever on manual transmission 2008 Jeep Liberty SUVs and 2007 and 2008 Dodge Nitro models may fail, an NHTSA report says. About 3,500 vehicles are affected by this recall. Failure of the parking brake could allow the vehicle to roll while parked and has already caused one accident, according to the report.
Owners of Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro vehicles affected by the recall should contact a dealership to arrange replacement of the faulty parts. Chrysler has announced that it will reimburse any owners who have already paid to have their parking brake fixed.
