Motorist Choice Awards Reveal Most Sexy, Fun and Kid Friendly Vehicles
If you care more about function, style and personality when car shopping and aren’t into the gear-head traits of vehicles, these awards may help you narrow down your vehicle choices. IntelliChoice and AutoPacific have named their Motorist Choice Awards for 2010 across 15 categories, divided by popular and premium (non-luxury and luxury).
The Motorist Choice Awards were tallied from 42,000 consumer surveys by AutoPacific and ongoing data analysis from IntelliChoice.
"From an emotional standpoint these awards are a reflection of how cars fit into people’s daily lives, the tasks they fulfill on a day-to-day basis and the image people have of their vehicles," Charlie Vogelheim, executive editor of IntelliChoice, said in a statement. "The cars in these categories not only represent tremendous value, they are also about the image you want to portray to other motorists as well."
The awards are more of a reflection of the personality of the owner. And since they’re chosen by consumers, not car experts, they’re a more practical comparison for shoppers who might ask friends and family for advice on what car will be the best for road trips, for example.
"Rather than grouping these cars into stereotypical categories like ‘Best Sedan’ we produced a list of the best cars buyers would themselves categorize, like Most Kid Friendly," said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. "These awards are a good reflection of the perceptions of the American consumer; showing what they want to drive and why they want to drive it."
