2011 Honda Odyssey Minivan Earns Highest Safety Rating

The redesigned 2011 Honda Odyssey minivan has earned the highest rating of good for protection in front, side and rear-impact crashes, according to the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety).

The IIHS says the 2011 Honda Odyssey will be tested for roof strength in rollover crashes later in the year.

The Honda Odyssey has received a good rating for front crashes for model years dating back to 1999. The 1995 to 1998 model years received a marginal rating for front crash tests, which is two steps below the good rating. The IIHS’ four ratings in order are good, acceptable, marginal and poor. In side-impact crashes, the Honda Odyssey has rated good since the 2005 model year.

In January, the 2011 Honda Odyssey is available with a sign and drive lease incentive or a more standard lease deal. Shoppers can lease the 2011 Odyssey 5 Speed Automatic LX for $380 a month for three years. There is $0 due at lease signing and the first month’s lease payment is covered by Honda. You still have to pay tax, title and dealer fees. With $1,999 at lease signing, shoppers can lease the same 2011 Odyssey for $319 a month for three years.
