GM Starts Red Tag Event Incentive Early
General Motors’ October sales were down 45 percent from the same month a year ago. Because of this, the company has decided to start its annual Red Tag Event early.
GM usually starts the end-of-the-year sale in mid-November, but started it early to try and make up some of the losses it sustained in October. The incentive program gives buyers up to $8,500 off most 2008 and 2009 models plus any other current incentives.
Buyers can go to GM’s Web site, www.gm.com, to see current prices for their area. The Red Tag Event ends Jan. 5, 2009.
