John Cooper Works Mini Countryman Will Be Most Powerful Mini Ever

Mini has released details on the 2013 Mini Countryman John Cooper Works, and it will be the most powerful Mini ever.  The Countryman John Cooper Works will have a 221-hp turbocharged engine.  The JCW Countryman will also represent a couple firsts for Mini: all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission in a John Cooper Works car.

Mini is expanding the John Cooper Works like to include it’s SUV in a move that mimics parent company BMW’s recent decision to build M versions of the X5 and X6.

The 2013 Mini Countryman John Cooper Works will use a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 211-hp normally and 221 on overboost, according to Autoblog. The JCW Countryman will only be available in all-wheel drive but buyers will have the choice between a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Maximum momentum for the monster Mini will be 127-mph.

Mini is dedicated to giving customers enough customization options to make their Mini unique, so of course the new Countryman John Cooper Works is no exception.  Chili Red mirrors, stripes, seat trim and roof are all available now for the performance Countryman.
