More Tuners Get Their Hands on the Hyundai Genesis Coupe; Now it’s HKS

When Hyundai started promoting the Genesis Coupe, their long awaited replacement for the Tiburon, they did something that was ingenious. Before the car even came out, they handed some preproduction models to some reputable tuners and then let them loose on ’em! Now the fruits of their labor will be displayed at this year’s SEMA Auto Show.

The latest tuning firm to transform the Genesis Coupe is the U.S. branch of Japanese tuning house HKS. The company will provide a GT Turbo upgrade package for the Genesis coupe, which goes on sale next spring in the U.S. as a 2010 model.

The HKS treatment includes engine performance parts icluding a high-flow intake system and a new engine control module, as well as a new exhaust system and a fully-adjustable suspension. HKS also will provide a ground-effects exterior package and various little interior upgrades.

Looks like the Genesis Coupe will surely create a performance image for Hyundai. By letting all the aftermarket develop parts for the car before it even hits the streets, Hyundai made sure that when the car arrives it will already have a dearth of aftermarket support, nice.

That’s one nice Hyundai.
