Pacifica, Magnum, PT Cruiser conv, and Crossfire officially axed
Well it’s official. Get ready to say goodbye to several models from Chrysler’s current lineup, including the Crossfire, Pacifica, Dodge Magnum wagon, and PT Cruiser convertible. The regular PT Cruiser will stick around for now. Most of these decisions have been attributed strictly to listening to “dealer requests” amongst other things. “These actions reflect our new customer-driven philosophy and allow us to focus our resources on new, more profitable and appealing products,” said Jim Press, Chrysler vice chairman and president. “Further, these product actions are all in response to dealer requests.” The automaker said it plans to phase out the four models by the end of 2008. It also took a moment to announce some newcomers to it’s lineup, including the Dodge Journey, and Durango, as well as the Chrysler Aspen. Also the hotly anticipated Dodge Challenger muscle car. This shows a real commitment by Chrysler to give customers what they want. Just don’t commit yourself to a Chrysler till all the dust has settled and a concrete product line shows up. ?
