2013 Nissan Pathfinder Crossover Goes On Sale This Month Starting at $28,270

The crossover 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will start at $28,270, $1,000 less than the truck based 2012 Pathfinder it replaces. The new 2013 Pathfinder follows the 2012 Ford Explorer and 2012 Dodge Durango as the latest full-size SUV to give up its truck style body on frame construction for the lighter but less rugged unibody construction typically found on cars. The crossover construction style pays off in a 26-mpg highway rating.

All 2013 Nissan Pathfinder models will be powered by Nissan’s 260-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine with a CVT automatic transmission. Front wheel drive will be standard on the Pathfinder, four-wheel drive will be a $1,600 option for all models.

Nissan has announced the pricing for the different Pathfinder trim levels, but not the content of those trim levels. The base $28,270 model will be called the Pathfinder S. The Pathfinder SV will start at $32,640, which Autoblog says is a $1,110 drop from 2012, but without knowing what content was also dropped, that knowledge isn’t really useful. Next up the chain is the Pathfinder SL, which is $34,470, The top of the line trim level will be the Pathfinder Platinum, and buyers can probably expect Infiniti levels of interior appointment to go with its $39,170 starting price.
