2015 Acura ILX Pricing Announced, Hybrid Discontinued

The 2015 Acura ILX will get a price increase over the 2014 model. That price hike will only be $150, leaving the ILX still wearing the crown of lowest priced luxury car on the market.

Buyers just shopping for a luxury badge (and let’s be honest, the ILX is a Civic for the price of an Accord, that’s a major selling point for this car) will be happy to hear that the ILX is still the lowest priced option. The Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA both start at $29,900. The BMW 228i and Cadillac ATS and start at $32,100 and $33,065. The hybrid Lexus CT200h costs $32,050.

Basing the ILX on the Honda Civic has some definite advantages, including the availability of the 200-horsepower 2.4-liter four cylinder and six-speed manual transmission from the Civic Si. Since it’s mechanically identical to its plebian cousin, the ILX Hybrid was available at launch. The ILX Hybrid wasn’t as popular as Acura had hoped with just 2,660 sold and has been discontinued.
