BBC’s “Top Gear” Won’t Be Coming to NBC After All

American fans of the British automotive television show Top Gear were dealt some bad news earlier this week. The cult hit show, which has been airing on British television station BBC for more than a decade, was scheduled to make its U.S. debut with its own version of the show made just for U.S. television audiences.

NBC’s own Web site had promoted the program as a "full of high-octane adventure and extreme comedy show." The program was scheduled to air in the middle of next year and was pegged to have comedian Adam Corolla on board as the main host on the program. Not much is known as to why the BBC pulled out of the agreement, but rumors are that NBC was going to push back the release of the show until the fall and the BBC network did not like the idea.

They have also announced that they will be looking for a cable network to pick up the show. Looks like there might still be something for American Top Gear fans to look forward to in the near future.
