Brabus “Tunes” a Tesla Roadster

When I got word that Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus was giving the new Tesla Roadster a makeover, I was really excited. When you see what they can do to Mercedes’ own vehicles, it’s only possible to imagine how much better it would be. That is, until I read the specs on what was done to the car.

I almost thought this was a joke when I first read it. They can’t be serious, I thought to myself. This has to be a joke or something. No way! Unfortunately, it wasn’t. This was for real.

Besides the obvious wheel upgrades, this is what Brabus has done to "tune" a Tesla Roadster:

1. Neon lights under the body (Are you serious?)

2. Leather-covered floors (That’s so stupid. What’s next? Suede-covered exhaust?)

3. A space sound generator (I’m not even going to comment on this one.)

That’s it. Seriously, that’s all they did to it. But the real kicker is the press release they typed up for the car’s unveling. We can’t make this stuff up people.

"Occupants on-board the Brabus Tesla Roadsters can choose from several simulated engine sounds including that of a typical V8 engine, a race-car engine and two futuristic "soundscapes" named ‘Beam’ and ‘Warp.”

So now you can sound like the Millennium Falcon when you’re pulling into the grocery store! Honestly, maybe those guys at Brabus need to get out a bit more, don’t you think?
