Chrysler Group Earns IIHS Top Safety Picks for Two of its Cars
Chrysler Group’s 2011 Dodge Charger and 2011 Chrysler 300 have earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Both are sister cars, which means they are essentially the same vehicle, but different brands. The exterior body and interiors will be slightly different. For both cars, it is their first time earning the Top Safety Pick honor, which is the highest the IIHS awards. To be named a Top Safety Pick, a vehicle has to receive good ratings for front, side, rollover and rear impact protection, and have electronic stability control standard.
2011 Dodge Charger
In previous years, the Dodge Charger received marginal and poor ratings for the side impact crash tests for 2006 to 2010 model year cars. The Chrysler 300 also rated marginal and poor for side impact crash tests from the 2005 to 2010 model years.
The 2011 Dodge Charger has 1.9 percent auto loan financing in January for 36 months, 2.9 percent for 48 or 60 months or 4.9 percent for 72 months. The 2011 Chrysler 300 doesn’t have any incentives yet, but will most likely have a lease deal or low auto loan rate incentive when it hits showrooms soon. Remaining 2010 versions of the Chrysler 300 have 0 percent car loan financing for up to 72 months in January.
Chrysler Group now has seven vehicles across its Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands that have earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick award.
