Conan O’Brien Investigates the New 2010 Ford Taurus, With Video

Last night on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Conan took a look at the newest version of the Ford Taurus SHO. Conan is a well known SHO fan, and features his emerald green ’92 model every few months on his show, so Ford let Conan check our the new 2010 SHO along with one of the car’s designers.

In the video, we learn that Conan was personally responsible for the rebirth of the SHO (according to him), which was discontinued in 1999. We also learn that the trunk of a 2010 Taurus SHO will fit Conan’s giant figure comfortably. Which makes it a perfect car for the recently homeless, smugglers, or busy mafia hit men. Also of note is that NBC’s designer was apparently specifically told not to touch Conan, we don’t know if this was Ford’s directive for keeping her from embarrassing herself by playing into one of the host’s silly jokes, or if Conan is just really afraid of the swine flu.

The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO comes with a 3.5 liter twin-turbocharged ecoboost engine that makes 365 horsepower and gets much better gas mileage than a typical V8 with the same power. The SHO uses all wheel drive for better acceleration and handling, as well as safety in inclement weather. The SHO also features special interior and exterior accents to remind you it’s no normal Taurus.

The 2010 SHO has a base MSRP of $37,150. If you took out a 60 month car loan for that with no down payment and a six percent interest rate, you would pay $718.21 per month. That’s not cheap, but you do get a big, comfortable car that can hang with sports cars for that price, so it’s perfect for people who normally would buy one vehicle to be their daily driver and another as a fun car.
