Ford Reportedly Will Offer Employee Pricing
Starting next week, Ford will offer customers employee pricing and cash rebates on most 2008 and 2009 models as part of a year-end clearance sale, reports the AP and the Detroit News.
Since the employee pricing incentive hasn’t been officially announced yet, a person briefed on the matter and wishing to remain anonymous said the offer will run from Wed., Nov. 19 through Jan. 5.
George Pipas, Ford’s top sales analyst, said that Ford is planning a year-end sales event just like most other manufacturers. Ford’s October sales were down 30 percent from a year earlier.
GM started its year-end Red Tag Event sale early, on Nov. 4, due to terrible sales in October as well. Most year-end car sales start near the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Will Chrysler follow suit and start its year-end sale early too?
