The six-wheeled Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 is one of the most extreme concept cars built by a major automaker, and now it will actually be built. Nobody who saw the six-wheeled Mercedes G63 AMG concept really thought that it would make production, but apparently enough rich car lovers have expressed an interest that Mercedes is now planning to sell a small number of the crazy SUVs for over a half-million dollars.
Mercedes-Benz has announced that the G63 AMG 6×6 will be sold in a small volume at a price of 379,000 Euros (around $513,000), according to Autoblog. The car won’t be available for sale in the United States or in right-hand drive countries, but sufficiently motivated buyers can probably still find a way to get one.
The G63 AMG will probably end up in some oil-wealthy Middle East countries like the United Arab Emirates, which makes perfect sense for the truck. The extra set of wheels will put less weight on each tire and let it travel more easily over sandy surfaces.
The G63 AMG 6×6 isn’t the only way to spend a half-million dollars on an SUV. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian recently dropped $400,000 on an armored Chevrolet Kodiak. Which would you rather have? The flashier and more offroad ready G63 AMG 6×6 or the armored Chevy?
