Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have bought two armored cars to keep themselves and their two-month old daughter North safe. Kanye and Kim bought a Chevrolet Kodiak truck with armaments based on President Obama’s armored limousine. The Kodiak reportedly cost over $400,000.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian also bought a Dartz Prombron Iron Diamond, one of the greatest or worst armored cars ever made (depending on how you feel about it’s over the top styling and ridiculously opulent interior). The Dartz Prombon is a million dollar SUV fitted with armor designed to withstand bullets and bombs. It also comes with whale penis-skin leather upholstery, diamonds and jewels inside and even gold and diamond emblems on the outside. Don’t bother trying to swipe one of the emblems though, Kanye and Kim have also hired full time bodyguards to keep them and their daughter (and secondarily, their million dollar SUV) safe.
Let’s be clear on something here, the Dartz is not just an armored car, it’s an expensive and exclusive luxury armored car. Kanye and Kim could have bought an armored Cadillac Escalade or Mercedes G-Class (Kim has a G63 AMG, as does her sister Kylie Jenner), but those aren’t very flashy, where they will probably have the only Dartz in Hollywood. Yahoo News seems to imply that Kanye is being paranoid spendign this much on an armored car, and while I’d like to agree, the fact is that he and Kim have hundreds of millions of dollars so safety should be a concern, and the Dartz happens to be an impressive display of wealth in addition to being well armored.
