Infiniti Shows First Official Photos of the G37 Convertible
It was only a matter of time for Infiniti. Its G35 and now G37 coupes were already available as a convertible, in the form of their cousin, the Nissan 350Z. So when Infiniti unveiled its first photo of the G37 convertible, it came as no shocker.
The automaker choose to unveil a photo of the car at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The G37 convertible will come with a three-piece automatic retractable hardtop though, in keeping with the current trend. Oddly enough, they only showed one photo, and it was with the top down. How it looks with the top up remains to be seen.
Infiniti is being stingy with other details, however. The company would not speculate on a price, only saying that the G37 convertible will be equipped with the same 3.7-liter V6 as the G coupe. But where the coupe will generate 330 horsepower, the G37 convertible is only expected to deliver around "320 plus" hp, according to the automaker.
The cars will go on sale in the spring of 2009. Once at dealer showrooms they will probably be badged as 2010 models. Expect to pay a healthy premium over the regular coupe.
