It’s Official: Volkswagen Presents Pricing for New Beetle

A press release out of Herndon Virginia is showing that the German automaker Volkswagen is ready to start offering its 21st-century Volkswagen Beetle to the American public. This June 7 announcement formalizes what we have previously reported on this blog, that the new 2011- 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is ready to take the North American auto market by storm.

More details from this report give new car buyers a little bit more of an idea of what this new vehicle model is like. After a hiatus from Volkswagen’s lineup, the new Beetle is back with a redesign for fuel efficiency, style and value for cost. One of the headlines here is the base model Beetle’s MSRP: with a sticker price of just under $19,000, this is a car that you won’t have to spend an arm and a leg to finance at your local dealership.

As for power, the new Volkswagen Beetle base model comes with a 2.5 L engine that delivers 170 hp. MPG estimates from the manufacturer show 22 miles per gallon in city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. An alternative is the 2.0 L TSI turbocharged engine, delivering 200 hp – this car comes with a price tag of just about $24,000.

Other elements of the new Volkswagen Beetle show how Volkswagen is renovating this car choice to appeal to modern buyers. Volkswagen executives are quoted as saying that the new model “respects the Beatles past, yet looks to the future.”

There’s also more coming out about how to get an auto financing deal for these impressive new machines. For those American buyers who have the stomach for a new car deal, the lower price tag on the diminutive Beetle helps. Just like with the old-school Beetle, with its space-efficient design, the new Beetle doesn’t give you more car than you need at an inflated price. New reports on financing differ, with some local dealers still saying 0% is available. Other sources peg the new car buyer’s likely rate for the 2011 2012 Beetle a little higher at around 1.9%. Either way, some basic research can help you out when you’re approaching your local Volkswagen vendor. Keep up on the MSRP, interest rate and more for this brand new offering and profit for the road ahead.
