Rickie Fowler’s 1,000-HP Garage Might Have Enough Room for Golf Clubs
Rickie Fowler has a dilemma that will sound familiar to most high-end sports car buyers: he wants a fast, fun car but needs space for golf clubs. Of course, most Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R owners are using the car and the clubs for recreation and Rickie Fowler will use his clubs for work, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a classic dilemma. And if both cars can fit his clubs, Rickie has an even tougher problem: does he take the 545-hp AWD Nissan GT-R or the 450-hp rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 GT3RS.
Rickie Fowler tweeted a picture of his Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 GT3RS before and after a car wash. Washing those two cars sounds like a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
The GT-R was designed to be a street-driven supercar while the GT3RS was designed to be a street-legal race car, so the two are bound to have very different manners on the road. If I were heading out for a day hitting the links, I’d probably opt for the more sedate GT-R. The 9 cubic feet of trunk space, close to double the Porsche’s 5 cubic feet, would definitely help with the choice. I’m not a world famous athlete though, maybe Rickie Fowler likes to rip it up on the back roads on the way to the golf course so he can get that craziness out of his system and be calm and focused on the course.
