The 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will get a $2,000 price cut from the 2013 Prius Plug-in’s $32,000 starting price and the Advance model will get a $4,600 price drop. No features will be dropped to make up for the price cut, so this looks to be a case of the plug in hybrid technology’s initial price dropping now that it’s been out for a few years.
The 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will actually be $2,010 less expensive than the 2013 model, and will start at $29,990. The 2014 Prius Plug-in Advance will get a $4,620 price cut and will start at $34,905. The Prius Plug-in will still get 95 MPGe and 50 MPG in Hybrid mode and be able to travel 11 miles on electric power alone.
The Prius Plug-in isn’t the only car to get a price drop for 2014. The 2014 Chevy Volt will be $5,000 less than the 2013 model and the 2014 Nissan 370Z gets a $3,000 price cut.
