A Father’s Day Gift That Doesn’t Suck – Racing School

Do you really love your father? Then don’t bother with a tie or monogrammed cufflinks or whatever the Sharper Image has on sale. Get him something that’s actually fun, like Racing School (Hint: you get to go too). The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is offering a Father’s Day course designed for sons and daughters who really want to earn that “world’s best” hat and t-shirt combo.

The Father’s Day Rapid Precision Maneuvers Course lasts four hours and costs just $349 up to June 1 (regular price is $400). Participants will get time behind the wheel of a Corvette, Cadillac CTS-V, Pontiac Solstice and 45 mph top speed go-kart.

There are four events in the Bondurant Father’s Day course. First is a timed Autocross where you race around a course of cones (so that if you go off course there’s no fiery wreck). The Accident Avoidance simulator will teach participants how to retain control over a vehicle during hairy situations on the real road. Lead and Follow track time on Bondurant’s road course will have you trying to keep up with one of their instructors. Participants will also get to race Bondurant’s Pro Karts, 45 mph racing go-karts.

Since Mother’s Day is coming up in a few days, we feel compelled to add that if your mother is particularly cool, this course would also make a great Mother’s day gift.
