Metal Conducts Electricity – Metallica’s James Hetfield Has a Tesla Model S
We all know metal conducts electricity, so it’s no surprise that James Hetfield of Metallica would be attracted to an electric car. James Hetfield is a car guy, which you might have guessed after listening to Fuel. Hetfield recently bought a car that uses no fuel, an electric Tesla model S (I don’t think ‘give me electricity give me fire give me that which I desire’ has the same flow as the original lyrics).
The Tesla Model S that James Hetfield drives is no slowpoke either, with its 85 kilowatt-hour battery, the Model S performance package has 420-horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, making it as powerful as the top of the line 400-horsepower 2013 BMW 550 i and 402-horsepower 2013 Mercedes-Benz E550.
James Hetfield talked to Orion about his love for cars and customization in an interview. Hetfield seems to be a true car guy – talking about how some cars click for some people and others are just unfathomable but also how that emotional response to cars is what makes them special.
