The 2011 Mazda3 has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Both the 2011 Mazda3 sedan and hatchback earned the top rating of "good" in front and side-impact crash tests, as well as roof strength tests.
The Mazda3 previously earned "good" ratings for front, side and rear crash protection, according to the IIHS. The 2011 Mazda3 is the first Mazda vehicle to be named a Top Safety Pick since the IIHS added a roof strength test to make its criteria more rigorous for vehicles to qualify.
The Top Safety Pick award for the 2011 Mazda3 is only for models built after December 2010 because Mazda made changes to the car’s roof structure to improve its strength.
To be named a Top Safety Pick, vehicles must earn "good" ratings in all IIHS crash tests and have electronic stability control as a standard feature.
In March, the 2011 Mazda3 four-door can be leased for $154 a month for 36 months with $1,999 due at lease signing. It can also be purchased with 0 percent auto loan financing for up to 60 months with no payments for 90 days.
The five-door version of the 2011 Mazda3 can be leased for $219 a month for 36 months with $1,813 at signing this month. The hatchback/five-door Mazda3 is also available with Mazda’s 0 percent financing for 60 months incentive in March, with no payments for 90 days.
