General Motors is recalling about 53,000 Chevrolet Cobalts, Saturn Ions and Pontiac G5s due to a fuel leak that could cause a fire.
GM told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it will replace the fuel-pump module on cars used in states with weather hot enough to cause the problem, The New York Times reports.
Included in the recall are 2006 Chevy Cobalts and Saturn Ions in Arizona and Nevada, 2007 Chevy Cobalts, Saturn Ions and Pontiac G5s in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada and Texas.
If you own one of these cars and live in one of these states, contact your local Chevrolet, Saturn or Pontiac dealer to get the fuel-pump module replaced. GM should be sending out notices to owners soon. A recall like this is usually free of charge to the consumer.
