Neiman Marcus Edition Chevrolet Camaro Sells-Out in Three Minutes

Chevrolet sold all 100 of its special edition Neiman Marcus Camaro Convertibles in just three minutes Tuesday. The wine-colored convertible was featured on NBC’s Today Show Tuesday and a few hours later, the phone reservation process started. Just three minutes later, it was over and all 100 cars were spoken for, GM said.

Buyers who reserved one of the 100 Neiman Marcus Camaros won’t receive their new car until the spring of 2011. The $75,000 car is featured in the annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, which also features luxurious holiday gifts for everyone on your list.

The special edition 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible comes in an exclusive Deep Bordeaux exterior color, accented by subtle "ghosted" rally stripes.

"The tri-coat, metallic paint shifts in response to natural light," said Tom Peters, Chevrolet design director. "In low light, it appears almost black with a touch of deep violet. In sunlight, a little bit of red and burgundy appear."

For $75,000, the 100 buyers will also get interior features like leather (amber-colored leather seating surfaces offset by black leather side panels and red stitching) and red accents on the center console, steering wheel and shift knob and Deep Bordeaux colored dash and door panels.

The Camaro also has a 6.2-liter, V-8 engine with a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Both engines deliver 400 or more horsepower.

The Neiman Marcus Edition Camaro Convertible also has 21-inch polished aluminum wheels, Pirelli P-Zero ultra-high performance tires, Brembo disc brakes, LED halo-ring headlamps, Bluetooth, rear parking assist and a 245-watt Boston Acoustics sound system.
